The objective of this chase game is to develop:

  • Communication: Children can learn to communicate effectively by discussing strategies with other players and coordinating to avoid the waiters.
  • Coordination: By running to avoid being tagged by the waiters, children develop their ability to coordinate their movements and react quickly.

  • 4 colored zones
  • 2 waiters
  • The rest of the children are customers

  • Roles:

    • Customer: Run from one colored zone to another.
    • Waiter: Tag the customers as they run from zone to zone.
  • Before the game starts, customers are randomly placed in the colored zones, and the waiters position themselves in the center of the field.

  • At the « START » signal, the adult announces a color (e.g., « RED »), and the children in the red zone must run to another colored zone without being tagged by the waiters.

  • A customer who gets tagged by a waiter becomes a waiter too.

  • The game ends when only one customer remains.

Variations:

  • Set a timer: The remaining customers win if they are still free after 10 minutes.
  • Change the mode of movement.
  • Call out multiple colors at once.

This game is a fun and active way to engage children while helping them develop essential physical and social skills.
