« Every Cat for Themselves  » is a chase game where the goal is to be the last cat standing in the play zone. This game can be used as a warm-up before a sports session with children.

Objective of Every Cat for Themselves :

The objective of this chase game is to develop:

  • Agility
  • Coordination

The game involves running and quickly changing direction, helping children improve their agility and coordination.

Game Setup:

  • 1 cat with a tail (a scarf tucked in their waistband)
  • All players randomly positioned in the playing field

Rules of Every Cat for Themselves :

  • Roles:

    • Players: Run, dodge, and try to grab the cat’s tail.
    • Cat: Tag players and avoid having its tail taken.
  • At the start, all players are randomly placed in the field, and the cat stands in the center with a tail (scarf) attached.

  • At the « START » signal, the cat chases all players and tries to tag them. However, if the cat’s tail is grabbed by a player, the cat must immediately leave the play zone.

  • The player who steals the tail becomes the new cat and tries to tag other players.

  • The area outside the boundaries serves as a « prison. »

  • A player who is tagged must exit the playing area.

  • A cat who loses its tail must also exit the playing area.

  • A player who grabs the tail becomes the new cat (puts the scarf in their waistband).

Returning to the Game:

  • A player can re-enter the game only if the cat who tagged them loses its tail.

Winning the Game:

  • The cat that successfully tags all players wins the game.

This game is a fun and active way to engage children, encouraging them to run, dodge, and improve their physical skills while enjoying the competition.
